About Buckets of Money

A simple, powerful approach to budgeting that helps you see exactly where your money goes and take control of your financial future.

Our Mission

Buckets of Money Budget was created to make financial management accessible to everyone. We believe that understanding your money shouldn't require a finance degree. Our bucket-based approach breaks down complex budgets into simple, visual categories that anyone can understand and manage.

The Buckets Methodology

The "Buckets of Money" method organizes your expenses into two main groups — "Have To" (needs) and "Want To" (wants). Within each group, your expenses are categorized by how they behave: consistent payments that stay the same, variable spending you track throughout the month, and ongoing savings you set aside for bigger expenses down the road.

Have To (Needs)

Essential expenses like housing, utilities, insurance, groceries, and transportation that you must pay each month.

Want To (Wants)

Lifestyle expenses like entertainment, dining out, subscriptions, and personal spending that enrich your life.

Meet Cassie

Cassie Parks, creator of the Buckets of Money Budget

Hi, I'm Cassie! Creator of the Buckets of Money Budget.

Pour yourself something bubbly and let's celebrate.

You're here, and that is worth celebrating because it means you are ready to move yourself forward financially. That is a big deal.

Getting better with money is a process, and I created the Buckets of Money Budget to help you grow through that journey.

It feels like money should be simple. It's just math, but mastery also requires a mindset. For more than ten years, I have helped people strengthen their relationship with money by helping them understand the math and improve their money mindset.

The foundation of a good relationship with money is a budget, and that is why I created the Buckets of Money Budget. It puts the process I've been leading people through to get budget clarity together with a simple system to track your money, into one tool to make budgeting as painless and powerful as possible.

If you have found yourself stuck, frustrated, angry, or even sad when you try to budget or manage your money, the Buckets of Money Budget can help. The main focus is helping you get clear about what you have to spend money on, so that you know what else you can spend money on.

Five years from now… How much money do you want to have in your savings account?

“I used to rely on spreadsheets for financial clarity — and they did help me see the numbers. But the Buckets of Money App is what finally made me feel accountable in real life. It gives my money a job, makes my priorities obvious, and helps me follow through consistently. Cassie has a way of making money feel simpler, calmer, and doable — while still holding you to what you said you wanted.”

“Cassie is my favorite person to follow for everything money-related! She has a gift for numbers and seeing new perspectives, and I trust her unique skill set of understanding how the brain works, merged with understanding how money works — and now all of that going into the design of Buckets of Money is exciting! The first time I applied what she taught in the Buckets of Money workshop, it propelled my relationship with money into greater confidence and, of course, gently forced me to step up in the best way!”

— Ginny G.

“I really enjoyed the session the other week and set up all my categories diligently. All the categories you had in there were really good to jog the memory! I also made some decisions and dropped around £40 a month in unnecessary expenses (which is a lot for me) and reallocated.”

— Ali

“Setting up my budget was so easy and straightforward with Buckets of Money. The only thing I had to bring was my numbers and the app did the rest for me. I have so much clarity now about where my money is going and feel empowered to choose how I want to spend or save it. This app has completely changed how I look at my budget and I have felt so excited to see money in all of my buckets. I love that with Cassie's help, I am letting the Universe know that I've got this and am ready to receive a whole lot more.”
